With the state of the economy today, most of us are looking for the best value on all of our purchases. Since vacuum cleaners are expensive, finding one that offers the best value is a top priority for a lot of people. Well known brands like Eureka, Dyson and Kirby may cost a lot of cash but there are lesser known brands that may be beauteous cheap comparatively. Are these cheap vacuum cleaners a good purchase? There are various things to consider when reviewing cheap vacuum cleaners and attempting to determine if a specific one is a good purchase. Below is a list of components to look at. 1) Construction. How well is the unit constructed? If the vacuum is not built well, what’s the point? If it is not well constructed, it will not be lasting and will hence not be considered a good value. There are two ways to determine how lasting a cheap vacuum will be. First, look at the warranty terms. If they are bad, prospects are it is for a reason. The manufacturer most likely knows that the unit will not hold up and consequently does not offer a warranty that they will have to honor. Secondly, read numerous vacuum cleaner reviews. The persons who already own the vacuum will let you know how long it lasts and how well it is built. 2) Power. The power of the suction determines whether or not the unit will do the occupation well enough. Look at the amount of amps it draws when in use. Most companies will print the number right on the box. If it’s not displayed, prospects are it’s not a very high number and consequently not a good buy. 3) Filter. The biggest problem with a cheap vacuum cleaner is ordinarily the filter. No matter if it’s an upright, a bagless, or a canister vacuum cleaner, if the filter is not of high quality, you are just propagating dust around the house. This is not to say that it has to have a HEPA filter, the filter will have to just be good sufficient to stop all of the dust and dirt from being expelled into the air. I have stone floors and wood floors with oriental carpets and kilims – which are flat weave carpets. My house is also two stories with a flight of stairs about 20 feet up. I also have a lot of birds and 2 puppies. So, I saw this vacuum. 14 lbs is easy to carry with that compact size and great handle. Going green makes me feel good, too. I used it today. Wow. The adjustible suction and noise control, light weight, adjustible heights and swivel everything – I could not believe how easy it was to use. It picked up everything and I could easily go off the carpet onto stone or wood just by pushing the suction adjustment with my finger. The edge of the carpets did not get picked up in the suction moving off to the floor and it did not grab the threads on the edges, either. Under cabinets, beds, chairs, flat up against the side of the wall without scratching. Picked up bird seeds, hair, and a little dry puppy poo I missed on a carpet. The variable noise control is a great idea around little animals. My little pups tried to play with it. Just perfect. Thanks. |
