Octane’s PowerStroke technology delivers up to 343 percent more glute action than recumbent bikes.

The crucial divergence amid the xR3ci and conventional ellipticals is the comfortable ergonomic seat, which is similar to the recumbent seat found on a good deal of exercise bikes. The seat lets you receive pleasure from a comfortable, challenging elliptical-style workout without putting unjustified stress on your legs or back. However, the seat adjusts differently than recumbent bike seats, with choices for altering both the height (15 options) and tilt (5 options) in addition to the horizontal positioning. This helps you find the perfective seated posture for any workout, whether your goal is a tougher challenge or a more comfortable ride.

The xR3ci also is different from recumbent bikes in a few other ways. The trainer’s PowerStroke technology, for example, provides optimal extension, power drive, and muscle engagement, including up to 343 percent more glute action than a standard recumbent bike, according to university studies. At the same time, the trainer’s smooth elliptical motion feels more natural than other workouts, so you don’t feel as tired even though you’re working out harder. Plus, Octane added a couple of extra workout modes to add interest and intensity. The Muscle Endurance mode prompts you to ride in respective positions and speeds, with an xRide option that also includes customizable intervals and intensities. With Muscle Endurance, you’ll tone your muscles and gain stamina over time. The Leg Press mode, meanwhile, is an aggressive routine that puts you through high-resistance repetitions concentered on building power in the glutes and legs.

As a bonus, the xR3ci offers a distinguishable 30:30 interval workout. The mode alternates 30-second sprints with 30-second recovery periods. Later, you may measure your fitness level with the heart rate recovery score and see your fitness improve over time. The machine likewise lets you choose a more established workout, including assorted customizable “goal” programs with distance or calorie burning targets. You may even just get on the trainer and go, with an automati QuickStart function that without delay launches a workout the second you step on the machine. No buttons to press or programs to select. And you may save your favored QuickStart routines for later retrieval.

Finally, the xR3ci is a nice choice for parents thanks to it is MOM mode. This motion management feature promotes family safety and peace of mind by disabling console buttons and restricting movements, so your little one can’t climb on the machine and get started fiddling. Other features include oversized pedals that go forwards and backwards; digital contact heart rate sensors; water bottle/accessory holders; and a compact design that fits perfectly in littler spaces.

@jas4488 What would make you suggest you can’t get a strength workout? Have you used one? Doesn’t sound like it. I have and I worked with a guy that developed some “Pec’s” as he explained. The resistance can get so high ( If you want it to ) that some people couldn’t even do 3 or 4 reps — Maybe not even 1 even you set the resistance high enough. It’s all relative. In that context they would be lifting for power/strength. Not hypertrophy or endurance. You speak about what you do not know…

No he said strenght training several times. Which we know is not true.

Actually, csphd, the muscular endurance work was what they were primarily after.

I love this machine! I use one at the gym.
This machine has become the most popular machine outside of the treadmills. If you have any kind of arthritus or knee problems this one is for you. It is not only enjoyable to work out on but it is fun too> Much more fun than the standing elliptical. I use a treadmill one day and this machine the next to alternate. If you have been out of shape this is a great machine to get started on too.

Interesting options and looks like it could be beneficial but do these manufacturers know anything about basic exercise physiology? The claims that you can get a good strength training workout by using just your arms or legs is ridiculous. You are still relying on muscular endurance (you feel the “burn” because of local muscle fatigue) and will get minimal benefit to muscle strength. I will get on one at my next conference and check it out.

This is a super machine, no doubt. I highly recommend it. The “Muscle Endurance” feature is pure genius. Good job!
