5Take your treadmill into the jungle!

I own assorted walking DVD’s of this type, but this is one of the best. The scenery is lush and the photography is steady and smooth and moves along just like you’re walking in a beachside jungle or on a beauteous beach in St. Lucia. In the background you listen the waves on the shore and the birds and other natural sounds. It’s easy to imagine yourself in a completely different, exotic place rather than at home on your treadmill or elliptical trainer.

One thing I exceptionally liked with regards to this DVD is that there is a 5 minute warm up section where you’re on this finelooking jungle clearing overlooking the ocean with huge rock outcroppings in the distance and the sun rising. It closely looks like a still scene except for the clouds tardily moving and a bird flying by each now and then. It’s a good time to do a few stretchings before beginning your walk.

The next part is the beachside jungle which is 37 minutes long. There you’ll walk on a path amidst the palms and lush tropical plants. The birds and sound of the distant ocean are the only sounds you’ll listen (unless you want to turn down the sound and use your mp3 player instead) as you walk along, looking at the scenery. The next portion is the beach with it’s high rocks along the shore and palapas overlooking the ocean. This portion is 12 minutes long. You’ll be walking at the ocean’s edge with water lapping at your feet. This is a gorgeous way to wake up in the morning!

The last part is a sunset and cool down which is 20 minutes long. As you watch the sun setting you might take delight in a few yoga poses or perchance a more leisurely walk after your workout.

I think these “virtual treadmill” or “virtual walk” DVD’s are a wondrous way to make walking indoors as interesting as walking outside. For me, it makes the time go quickly and puts me in a great frame of mine to begin my day.

5Beautiful Way To Make Exercise Time Fly By – and Get More From It!

I have been using another set of virtual DVDs that are meant for cycling, but I use them on my treadmill. I’ve been so happy with them that when I got this one, I genuinely was prepared to be disappointed.

I was delighted with it!

I hit the ‘Play All’ rather than choosing a specific segment. So we started out with a beauteous still setting, with the sound of the ocean, which invigorated me as I got myself settled in on my treadmill. I was puzzled for a moment and thought that’s all there was to it, so I stopped it and checked. Sure enough, that was just the warm-up.

Next, we come out of a little wooden gate onto a jungle path, surrounded with palm trees and other greenery. The sound was pleasant and non-intrusive. In fact, the sound of my treadmill was the only thing that annoyed me and I commonly don’t like the cheesy kind of sound on most ‘scenery’ videos.

So we travel on down that path, always choosing to go left when the path goes 2 directions. There are times when we go over little bridges and catch a glimpse of the water below.

Eventually I wondered if we would EVER get to the ocean, but we did. What a finelooking view. I felt as if I were walking barefoot in the sand, with the waves coming in over my feet, most times having to walk around pieces of wood, etc., that had floated in from the sea. I felt as if I were genuinely there.

I’m very pleased with this. It has a place by my bike-o-vision DVDs. I like to go to a dissimilar emplacement to ‘walk’ or cycle or travel on my elliptical machine each day. It is such an incentive to get in there and spend that time which may also keep me healthy.

I commend this DVD IF you are a person who loves nature.

    well, i love this work out. i’m not overweight but still lost 3kg. it makes me sweat all my stress out and i change the workout depending on my mud. on a good day i do 7km/hr walk- 1min, then 12.5km/hr jogging-40sec, 15-16km/hr sprint- 40sec. after 2 sets i skip the walking part and jogg and sprint as long as i can,then cool down with one more walk, jogg sprint set. well, pretty hard but worth it!

    HELP!!! my **** is disappearing. i started doing 30 min treadmill jogging routines, 5 days a week, 2 months ago. the fat i lose doesn’t come from the body parts where i want to lose it. my belly is still round and my once fat **** is vanishing. i need to retain my **** fat while trying to lose my pot belly

    I can vouch for this work out. I’ve been doing this for a week and a half and have already lost 7 pounds. Eating healthy is BIG factor is making this work. I weighed about 235 and now I’m at 228. That 30 seconds on and off thing is VERY annoying, if your treadmill has a number pad use that, I do. Here’s my interval work out, 3.0 to start off for about 2 minutes, then 8.0 for a full minute, then back down to 3.0 for a full minute and so on and so forth for 20 minutes straight, no break. Try it.

    The best fat burn c.v i ever did was. 5min run speed 12.0. Incline 1.0. Then 2min hill walk, incline 7.0 speed 5.0. for a toatal of 21mins 5,2,5.2,5,2. Did this 3 times a week, in the everning, after weight work out.

    I am not a trainer–just a fitness enthusiast. I developed/used the below interval workout a few years ago using my mountain bike mounted on a wind trainer. I am now running , and weight training, and am planning to start doing this once a week–it is the toughest workout I have ever done–use with caution. Great for developing explosive power of short dduration.

    Using a cycling wind trainer and heart rate monitor as follows: all intervals at MAX intensity–bike in highest gear ratio.Start with 30secs. max intensity, then pedal easy until heartrate returns to 120–130 BPM. next intervls: 60 secs.–90 secs–120 secs.–90 secs–60 secs.–30 secs. Between each interval pedal easy in low gear until heart rate returns to around 120–130 BPM Over time work up to 2-3 repeats of the above.Totally ballistic workout.

    sweating just means you lost water weight (or mass) no fat in sweat..be carefull though that you dont give yourself heat stroke.

    Hmmm non air conditional shud help lil bit but i dont think it really matters..I go to the gym..I sweat crazy after 60 mins of sum gud cardio but dats me…everyone’s different, sum sweat alot..sum dont. Try gud intensive cardio like incline much higher than usual….c if u c sum results…nd drink lotss of water i mean lots of water……
