Épatant! By Ayya An magnificent book with audio that will have you speaking French in no time! Yes, you grasp French, but you may find yourself faltering a bit when it comes to actually speaking French. Learn how to assert the words just on the tip of your tongue without hesitating and second guessing yourself! Schorr covers the subtle differences in meaning or opinion or attitude of French speech that I think are necessary in each day conversation. Although not intended for the beginner, this book will primarily heighten your French language learning experience.

my second copy of this book. By George E. Grunwald I left my basi copy with our son, who moved to France a year ago and is still getting employed to the language. He finds the text and disc utile in navigating every day life and social situations in a provincial city with closely no Anglophones.
the author spells out incisively for whom the book is for — not for beginners — and how the book may help. It is not a substitute for a more comprehensive review of grammar and vocabulary, but gives a sense of the style of the country, culture and people. the disc reminds me how much work I still have to do to get my mouth around the language.
the tone is brisk, upbeat, but not relentlessly cheerful. very well done.
